1. Overview
EnginStack (enginstack.com) is a unit-conversion reference for engineers, machinists, architects, and anyone who works with physical measurements. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we don't do.
Every unit conversion runs in your browser. The numbers you type into any converter are never sent to our servers or any third party.
2. What We Don't Collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, passwords, or any data you manually enter into a converter or form. We do not operate user accounts. We do not display advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade data with anyone — there is no data to sell.
3. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-4KZVRQHGCK) to understand aggregate traffic — which pages people visit, how they find us, and what countries they browse from. GA4 is configured with IP anonymisation enabled. We do not use Google Signals, remarketing, or advertising-reporting features. The data we see in GA4 is: page URLs, referrer sources, browser and device categories, and country-level geography. No names. No emails. No personal identifiers.
If you prefer not to be counted: any content blocker (uBlock Origin, AdGuard, etc.) or a network-level block of googletagmanager.com will prevent the analytics script from loading. The converters continue working without it.
4. Cloudflare CDN
This site is delivered through Cloudflare's content delivery network. At the network layer, Cloudflare may process visitor IP addresses for DDoS protection and traffic routing. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
5. Local Storage
We store one preference in your browser's localStorage: your light-mode or dark-mode choice (enginstack-theme). This setting never leaves your device. No server request reads it. No analytics service sees it. You can clear it at any time through your browser's site-data settings.
6. Children's Privacy
EnginStack is a professional engineering reference. It does not target, collect data from, or market to children under 13.
7. GDPR & Your Rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port any personal data we hold about you. Since we collect no personal data beyond anonymized page-view statistics, these rights are straightforward to exercise: there is essentially no data to provide. If you have a specific request, contact us at the email below and we will respond within 30 days as required by Article 12(3) of the GDPR. Our lawful basis for processing the minimal analytics data described in Section 3 is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) — understanding aggregate traffic patterns is necessary for operating and improving the service.
8. Data Retention
Google Analytics 4 retains anonymized data for 2 months by default in our configuration. Aggregated reports older than 2 months are automatically deleted from Google's servers. The theme preference stored in your browser's localStorage persists indefinitely until you clear it manually — there is no server-side copy and no expiration mechanism is needed. If you switch browsers or devices, the preference resets to the system default.
9. Third-Party Service Details
Cloudflare, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) delivers this site through its global CDN. Cloudflare processes visitor IP addresses at the network edge for DDoS mitigation and traffic routing. Cloudflare's processing of EU personal data is governed by Standard Contractual Clauses. Google LLC (Mountain View, CA) provides the analytics service described in Section 3. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Neither Cloudflare nor Google receives any data that would allow them to identify individual visitors — the data they process is limited to what is described in Sections 3 and 4.
10. Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy was last updated on July 21, 2026. If we make material changes — such as adding a new third-party service or changing how analytics data is handled — we will update this page and note the change date. Since we collect no personal contact information, we cannot notify users directly of policy changes. Please check this page periodically.
